Cernunnos is the ancient Celtic God of nature and the forest. He represents fertility, the creation of life, animals and plants. He reminds us to stay in touch with Mother Earth as the source of our vitality. In pre-Christian times, horns on gods were not seen as something malevolent. When Christianity tried to eradicate paganism, pagan imagery, such as horns, became associated with imagery of Satan. This artwork is also a reminder that not everything is as it seems — often, truth lies in the opposite.
